Burdened by “Savvato”
Burdened
I’m just a man, mehn, I love the Lord, and that is my greatest asset in life, It always will be, but sometimes I struggle to keep up with praying and reading the Word as fervent as I would really love to.
Sometimes it feels like I left Him hanging and started focusing on other things that also matter things I believe He placed in my heart, at different points, my mind just becomes completely preoccupied.
For instance, over the past month, it was writing the songs on Savvato, I still found time to pray and read my Bible but if I’m being truthful, sometimes it was just when I wasn’t really doing anything else.
And now that the album is done, my mind has moved on to another burden:
Putting Savvato out.
The emotional pressure.
The financial pressure.
And all the other “pressures”
Some mornings I wake up genuinely torn between sitting down to read my Bible and pray, and picking up my phone to look for someone who believes in this dream enough to help fund it just to help ease the burden to doing this all by myself.
But somewhere in all the worry, pressure and panic, I keep realizing something:
God is still the only One who consistently shows up.
He stays when I feel on fire, He stays when I don’t and I’m also learning that my feelings shouldn’t be my metric for reality, I might feel burdened, but I can tell God that I’m burdened, and He can do something about it, He holds our hands even in moments when we feel like we don’t deserve it, He’s happy to hear us come to Him and simply talk.
Sometimes your devotion might be tears and:
“God, I’m tired.”
Sometimes it might just be:
“God abeg.”
And maybe that’s something I need to remember too.
Devotion isn’t always being on fire (shouting in tongues), sometimes it can be solemn. Devotion is communicating with your Father.
He gives us wisdom to navigate difficult seasons.
He provides.
He stays.
Even when it doesn’t look like everything is working out yet, He is still there, i don’t physically have everything I need to bring this vision and all my ideas to life yet.
But I have Him.
And He’s with me.
So I’m moving, one step at a time.
And I’m really glad some of you are going to experience Savvato with me before the rest of the world hears it.
