VDM
I saw a video of someone speaking about why VDM is currently one of the biggest influencers in Nigeria right now and it stuck.
Just think with me for a second.
He became who he is on the strength of his character or “perceived character” — integrity, a seeming willingness to die for what he believes, no special favoritism toward people in power, riches, or influence.
This is not a sermon, but listen to me, I also don't support a lot of what he does and how he does it.
When I watched the video breaking down his character, I asked myself if I could be trusted.
Let me give you more context.
This is not a VDM promo, but VDM literally reduced Bobrisky’s influence and fought cross-dressing and “homosexuality” in Nigeria at least to the best of my knowledge.
I know a couple of people who have been freed from literal oppression just by the mention of his name.
He fought people who sold harmful products and those who didn’t have proper documentation.
He doesn’t monetize his IG, he doesn’t do paid adverts, you can’t shut him up with money, and he has shown himself to be accountable with money. He currently runs an NGO where you can publicly see how much is in the account and its activities.
He vehemently without pause speak against the evil the government does and does everything not to associate with them. Countlessly rejected money from them. Through his words and actions preaches contentment and hard work.
I don’t know how he was raised, but this man has successfully conquered the love of money, in my opinion.
Money has no rule over him.
Influence has no control over him.
Power doesn’t stop his voice.
Let me ask you a question: how many people do you know in your life like this in our day? People that have been tested consistently? We are in a day where integrity doesn't matter, just make money and blow up! We equate doing well with fame and money not doing God’s will.
It's no longer okay to just do God’s will and not be famous or rich, the evidence of God’s goodness is now money, fame and influence.
Our testimony is now result based not who we are becoming.
Can God trust that when He brings you before kings, you will speak His mind and not agree with them just for favors? And when needed, will you speak the truth instead of being politically correct?
Will you be able to say no to gifts that you know might silence you or tamper with the ultimate plan of God?
Financial prosperity also comes from God, but that’s not the promised blessing. The promised blessing is eternal life, living in the new earth and heaven, a place where there is no suffering, pain, or death.
We have gained the whole world already by believing in Jesus.
Don’t live for money or influence. 🙏
